Jesus tells His disciples to wait to be BAPTISED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. Jesus then ascends into heaven and the disciples wait in Jerusalem. Then at the appointed time (Shavuot- Pentecost), the Holy Spirit descends down from heaven and comes upon the disciples who are gathered.
Acts 2:1 When the DAY OF PENTECOST had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came A SOUND FROM HEAVEN, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one SAT ON EACH OF THEM.
4 And they WERE ALL FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT and began to SPEAK WITH OTHER TONGUES, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Whoosh! The precise day, the precise hour, the precise moment, and the Mighty Holy Spirit came on cue -the wonderful promised gift of our heavenly Father came upon those who believed that Jesus was the Messiah who gathered in that place.
Yes that’s right – the HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR MANTLE.
He has SEALED US – indicating that we are the anointed or chosen of the Lord.
Ephesians 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were SEALED with the Holy Spirit of promise,
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
And we have been endowed with POWER.
POWER to be a WITNESS for the Lord Jesus and His Kingdom.
POWER to DEMONSTRATE His love on this earth.
POWER to PROPHESY.
POWER to do SIGNS, MIRACLES and WONDERS on His behalf.
POWER to FORGIVE sins.
POWER to BAPTISE believers into His Name
Everything we need is IN HIM our MANTLE.
But how do we receive the MANTLE?
Can the Holy Spirit be purchased?
Can you train in the school of the prophets to be worthy to receive the Holy Spirit?
