Genesis 12:7 Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, \u201cTo your descendants I will give this land.\u201d And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.<\/p>\n

We saw in Psalm 24 that it is the Lord who owns the earth, and all its fulness, the whole world and those who dwell in it.<\/p>\n

Does the Scripture say this anywhere else?<\/p>\n

Well of course in the New Testament, Paul the apostle, (formerly Saul the Rabbi), who was a master of the Scripture (having trained under Gamaliel), quotes this exact same verse from the Psalms.<\/p>\n

1 Corinthians 10:25 Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, asking no questions for conscience\u2019 sake;
\n26 for \u201cTHE EARTH IS THE LORD\u2019S AND ALL ITS FULNESS.\u201d<\/p>\n

Does that sound strange to you? It\u2019s a bit of a strange link between
\n* eat whatever meat is sold to you
\n* conscience\u2019s sake and then
\n* because THE EARTH IS THE LORD\u2019S AND ALL ITS FULNESS.<\/p>\n

and he repeats it …<\/p>\n

27 If any of those who do not believe invites you to dinner, and you desire to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no question for conscience\u2019 sake.
\n28 But if anyone says to you, \u201cThis was offered to idols,\u201d do not eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for conscience\u2019 sake; for \u201cTHE EARTH IS THE LORD\u2019S AND ALL ITS FULNESS.\u201d
\n29 \u201cConscience,\u201d I say, not your own, but that of the other. For why is my liberty judged by another man\u2019s conscience?<\/p>\n

Huh?<\/p>\n

* Eat whatever is set before you asking no questions
\n* For conscience\u2019 sake
\n* But if you discover it was offered to idols
\n* Do not eat it for the sake of the one who told you
\n* For conscience\u2019 sake (the other person\u2019s conscience)
\n* because THE EARTH IS THE LORD\u2019S AND ALL ITS FULNESS
\n* Why is my freedom judged by another man\u2019s conscience.<\/p>\n

What a strange thing to say. What do you mean apostle Paul\/ Rabbi Saul?<\/p>\n

He is linking dietary laws, freedom, conscience, respect for the other man and the Lord\u2019s ownership of the earth.<\/p>\n
